spacious kitchen

Today there's no school so I've promised the children to bake something delicious and I wouldn't mind doing so in a kitchen like that. Look at all the space! And don't get me started on the stone wall between the kitchen and living room! I've been admiring that kitchen for many months now. It used to be a barn before the present owners renovated the house. I hate to be a bore but I wish they had done the living room differently. In my opinion something in there simply doesn't work, that brown wall, painting and sofa lack harmony. But I don't live there so who cares what I think. wink

In case you were wondering, the house is located near Fontainebleau, France (south of Paris). Have you visited the Fontainebleau chateau? It's on my things-to-do-in-France list. Have a wonderful day everyone!

  4. I like the spacious kitchen where I can "dance" while cooking. Two very opposite actions... ;-)

  5. All that space! I could dance in a kitchen like that one. ha ha, only after I had written the previous sentence I saw María's comment. But I agree with you on that living room wall, it somehow draws the attention from the stone wall, which should be the center element.

  6. The kitchen is phenomenal! So funny I was just dreaming of a gorgeous, spaceous kitchen. The wood and beams and stone wall are fabulous.

  8. That kitchen is incredible! It feels so effortless! I agree with you on the living-room, it has no flow to it. The proportions and style of the furniture are wrong in my opinion, especially those of the couches.

  10. I love the idea of bringing some garden plants into the house and treating them as in-door ones, particularly those, in the living room. Must do something like this. Thank you for another inspiration. x

  11. What a huge window for the kitchen! That way you can cook and, at the same time, watch the children play in the yard :))) and also they can smell the nice pumpkin pie you are cooking in that marvelous kitchen :))) I don't have children yet, but I let my imagination fly...What a nice vase and lamp! And all those blankets in the house are saying "Come back home, don't you see the winter is coming" :P

  12. Of course, only in Paris! A beautiful kitchen - I just adore the rustic elements matched with the uber modern stove and sink. Loving all of your Parisian posts lately, you are putting ideas in my head about escaping to Paris xx

  13. I wish I had a bigger kitchen, with LOTS of counter space. I don't mind in the summer, but now that the cooler months are here, I'll be spending a lot of time in the kitchen baking and making soups. And I'll be cursing the small space.

Fabulous photos!! Oh, stone - how I love thee!

  14. Stunning kitchen, but I agree - the living room is a bit disjointed. x Sharon
